IMS believes in giving back both locally and internationally, to those in need. Throughout the year, IMS collects non perishable food items that are delivered regularly to the food bank as the box fills up. Thank you to those of you who contribute on a regular bases. We wanted to continue to support the food bank this Christmas as the need in Calgary has more than tripled in the last year, with many using the food bank for the first time ever. We at IMS wanted to ensure that no one would go hungry over the holiday season and collected additional food items at our IMS Christmas party. The staff donated 3 large boxes of food that we were able to deliver to the food bank a few weeks before Christmas.
We also challenged our staff to help fill back packs with much needed items for those who find themselves without shelter. We were able to collect and stuff 11 large backpacks to the brim with hats, scarves, mitts, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, makeup, perfume, colonge, band aids, books, pens, pencils, socks, gift cards, etc. Thank you to every who contributed to the back packs, thanks to IMS for purchasing the back packs to fill, for the cash donations given as well.
IMS matched the cash donations to also make a lump sum donation to the Mustard Seed to use as they needed.
Thank you to Clara, Linda, Donna, Brenden and Carrie for sorting and filling the packs, and to Richard and Alex for delivering them to the Mustard Seed a few days before Christmas. We all hope that these packs eased the burden of living on the streets in Calgary and blessed the individuals who received them.
